Thank you Andrew, it is very rare I hear a man talk about carrying shame, I have heard it once before and I was so relieved to know I was not unique. I don't believe it is something we are born with, I believe it is something contracted when we take on the cruel words of others, perhaps in an advertisement making us falsely believe we have to be someone's perfect. It then gets processed and the fear of imperfection turns into a fear of not being enough.
There is a song talking about a women who thought she was not enough so she got stuck in the mud and the world closed in on all sides of her. We can create jails for ourselves when fear holds us back from talking our truth, when shame envelopes us because we can't see that 'we are enough' . For a long time when I heard the song I cried, now I swim across the lake a week after the ice thaws. We are enough.
When the strands of shame start to envelope us, it is important to know who we can share it with, it sounds like you made a good choice. Many blessings to the two of you and lots of love. XOXOO Ricki
"For a long time when I heard the song I cried, now I swim across the lake a week after the ice thaws." That is such a beautiful image. Gives me hope. Lights me up. Thank you, Ricki, for your wisdom, and for your love and blessings for us as well. Much love right back to you.
Raw. Uncensored. Evoking head nods, places of uncomfortable alignment, gasps, tears. Ahhhh. Thank you for leading me through that shame door- and leaving the bread crumbs to the exit.
The perfect medicine for me in this moment. Thank you, Andrew.💓
Well done brother.
Well said!

Just loved all of this.
Thank you, Leslie. Walking through that door, one life, one moment at a time.
