The Founding Circle

Dear readers,

On December 10 from 7-8pm EST, I'll be hosting the very first Founding Circle on Zoom for my Founding Members (a $150/year subscription). This biannual gathering will be an opportunity to connect with the kindred spirits who are drawn to each other through the medium of my stories and ideas. Who are we here? Y’all know about who I am (probably a little more than most of you care to know, and definitely way more than any of you need to know), but who are you? Who are the people here that make this something more than just a guy spitting a bunch of words out into the void? 

My hope for the Little Courtyard is that it becomes a living conversation. A sanctuary of humanities. An archive of stories. What does my writing stir in you? What does it agitate and activate? I'd love to see the comments section get lit with your own wonderings, questions, protests, revelations. Verses from the gospel of your life. What visions might we see in this fire if we were all tending it together?

We’re getting there. Jacob’s tossed a few good logs on this fire. Randy and Jim and Leslie and Lori are pushing around the coals, lighting it up. I’m loving it.

The Founding Circle will be another way to connect. For this first one, we'll be taking some time to get to know each other, drop in with a meditation, and then I want to solicit your feedback: writing prompts, community-building ideas, ways to empower readers to engage and contribute. Depending on how things go, I might offer a reading at the end.

We’ll see. I might make the Founding Circle a quarterly offering at some point, and get an annual Zoom going for my paying subscribers who are pitching in but can’t quite clear the $150 bar for founding membership. But first things first. December 10. 7-8pm EST. Founders only, for now.
